Orb Weaver ART
Soul Artist
Diane was born in the south suburbs of Chicago moving to Michigan her senior year of high school. She was always a self guided student of creativity using simple materials from wire, wood, textiles and nature to express herself. Times were lean during the Michigan years so the end result of those expressions would be used for gift giving.
Then a move to Florida brought a very different life style. It was good, it was busy, it paid the bills and bought the gifts. Personal joy was found in other ways. But after some years it seemed like all work and no play allowed creativity to slip away. "I missed unrestrained permission to play and create. To enjoy the artistic self confidence I found when I created some really cool stuff."
Diane is embracing once again that self guided student. She explains; "My type of art (I call Soul Art) comes from a place deep in my soul where I want to express my creativity. I have no clear picture of the end result or even the medium but what is clear is that first I have an inspiration and second I have a desire. That desire keeps stirring my soul to explore and develop the inspiration through a variety of mediums. Bending wire, stringing beads, weaving or felting. Any way that I can work out of my soul through my hands something that I can give from my heart."
